Stamp Something's Touch of Spring

Good morning stamper friends!  How's your Friday going?  Mine's great and it sure helps that today brings a new Stamp Something challenge.  This week, our theme is Touch of Spring.  I thought this was a great idea for this time of year.  Still winter of course, but I can almost smell the end of winter and the incoming spring.  OK... that's pretty fanciful, but it makes me feel better on these cold days!!  ; )

As always, it was so hard to decide which stamp to use.  I haven't colored up an Elzybell's image for ages so decided to go with Butterfly Ted and this cute sentiment.  A little grass, a couple flowers and butterflies.  What says spring better than that?

I'm torn about this card.  Part of me really likes it and part of me thinks it's too blah.  I meant to glitter up the butterflies, then went and forgot!!  ACK!!!  I think I'll go ahead and do it here IRL.  But I LOVE this ribbon.  I got it on ebay a year or so ago and have gotten to use it a couple times now.

Our sponsor for this week's Stamp Something challenge is Janna at Whiff of Joy.  This is one of my favorite stamp companies.  I just love their choices!  Isn't this enough incentive to get you involved??  : )

To help me out this week, I used the sketch from Eat Sleep Stamp.  Unfortunately (for me), it's last week's sketch so I can't enter her drawing, but I sure appreciate the inspiration!  Thanks so much Tracy!

I hope you've enjoyed your visit here.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend and find some time to make a Touch of Spring project!!!  : )

It's a Birthday Party

I went to a birthday party today and the birthday girl was just adorable!!  She had on her princess crown and necklace and everything a princess needs.  Her name is Sherry I made this card for  her.

Is this the most joyous little gal you've seen?  I just love her!!  I've had her for a couple months or more and am finally getting around to using her.  What fun it was to make this card.  I love the Cosmo Cricket early bird line and selecting, then using the colors to match those papers was tons of fun!  Bright and pretty and whimsical.  Just the way I like 'em  : )

Oh... did I mention this little princess at today's party is turning 40?  : )

I'm friends with Sherry's mom, Kathy, and know they are both huge Irish junkies.  Kathy has Irish on her side so they come by it naturally!  : )  Anywho... I wanted to add a bit o' the Irish to Sherry's card.  I found this heart with a celtic knot enclosed within it.  That was perfect!!  And instead of the normal birthday blah-blahs on the inside, I stamped an Irish saying.  I think Sherry enjoyed that I'd included those items on her card!

I got the layout for this card from a new challenge site.  New for me anyway.  It's called Crafting Life's Pieces and Chelsea holds four sketch challenges a month.  If you enter all four, you have a chance to win the monthly prize.  I probably won't be able to fit all four sketches in, but so far I really do like what I see.  She makes beautiful cards as well.  If you can, go check out her blog and try a challenge or two... or four!  This layout is actually from Challenge #19 found here

Other challenges:
Copic Colour Challenge - red (got it), pink, blue
Daring Cardmakers - Have a Heart
Allsorts Challenge - 3, 2, 1 - 3 of something, 2 of something else and one of something else.  I've got 3 DPs, 2 stamps and one bow (or charm).
By the Cute and Girly - Love

I meant to glitter up the butterfly and bumble bees just a little bit, but forgot.  Also I added the little hand-written '40th' right above the space between happy and birthday.  It looked perfect, but I decided to leave these pics as they are.

And that's about all I got done today.  I guess I just needed to catch up a bit with my need to be lazy.  Yep... yep... that's what it was, a lazy day with a fun birthday party thrown in!!  Happy Birthday Sherry!!

I'm so glad you came by today.  Please come again soon.  For those of you who leave comments, thank you sooooo much!  They just make my day!!!

Time for a Whimsie Doodles Blog Hop

This is my third post today.  If you're looking for either the Stamp Something challenge or the Fussy & Fancy Friday Challenge, please scroll down a post or two.  THANKS!

Hello Whimsie Doodles fans!  Welcome to the Easter edition of our Whimsie Doodles blog hop!  Isn't that perfect... Easter... hop!!!  : )  Whimsie Doodles has some SUPER cute images to share with you, and we can't wait to get started!

For my card, I chose to use the new image named Bunny Leah.  Do ya just love her???  I do!!  But then I'm partial to little girls dressed up in bunny outfits!  When my daughter was little, I made her a bunny outfit for Halloween, so when I see this it brings back great memories.

We're doing this hop word scramble style, which means while you bounce around from blog to blog, you will be collecting letters.  At the end, you will unscramble those letters to get a coupon code to use in the Whimsie Doodles store so you can download this adorable Jelly Belly image free!  Isn't he/she fatabulous???  : )  The letter you'll need to gather from me is U.

Here's a card I worked up using little miss Jelly Belly.  For the layout, I got a little help from Card Patterns

Once you've done your hoppin' and visited all of our Doodlelicious Divas, you'll go back to the Whimsie Doodles blog and leave a comment to be entered into a drawing for a $10 gift certificate, or two $5 gift certificates to the Whimsie Doodles store!

Your next stop on our bunny hop is Donna.  Enjoy all of the Doodlelicious eye candy today and have fun collecting your letters!  Be sure to leave comments along at all of the stops on the hop to be entered to win Whimsie Doodles gift certificates.  The winner will be announced on the Whimsie Doodles blog tomorrow!

Hope you have fun today.  Don't forget to pick up the letters as you hop through the blogs.  Thanks for poppin' in today.  Now time to hop on to more blogs and great cards/projects to view and drool over!  Take care, my friends!

Dazzling

This is my second post today.  If you're looking for the Stamp Something challenge, please scroll down to the next post.  : )

It's time for another new challenge from the Fussy & Fancy Friday Challenge.  This week we'd like you to 'Dazzle Us'!  Doesn't that sound like fun???

I decided to use this lovely digital image from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I just fell in love with it when I first saw it.  Well, I took this image, colored it up, then glittered it pretty well too!!  : )  The birds are glittered, some of the wood twigs are glittered and the string holding the wreath together is glittered!  I LOVE using glitter!!!  Then, I used red flock on the two hearts on their Home "Tweet" Home tag.  Ya know, I just don't use that stuff often enough.  It's so cool and gives great texture.

The DT has whipped up some fabulous cards, so I hope you'll have time to go check out their blogs and leave 'em all some love.  We ALL love your comments!!!  : )

Finally, a close-up of the little glittery love birds.  Mo, you have a genius talent!!  I love all your creations!!

Cute Somethings

Good day all friendly stampers!  Once again Friday is here and it's time for another Stamp Something challenge.  This week we'd like you to join us in making some 'Cute Somethings'.

This is the perfect theme for this week's challenge as our sponsor is Wags 'n Whiskers.  They are having a blog hop today so head on over to the Stamp Something challenge site to get more information!  I hope you have time to go join in on their fun.  They are celebrating their newest release of some wonderfullly cute, CUTE stamps.

Wags 'n Whiskers kindly provided the DT with images from their new release.  I was thrilled to get 'Just for You' to work with.  Isn't he just adorable with his two flowers?  A little broken perhaps, but it's the thought that counts, right??  haha.

I had to cut this image out so he'd work on the dark DP.  Well... I'll have to admit, I had to cut him out anyway.  After I'd colored up the image, I decided to color around it and chose to use yellow.  Well... I picked the very worst color of yellow imaginable!!!  Truly, it was garish!!  I just couldn't stand to leave it on there.  Just goes to show, there are many paths that take us to our end result!!  : )

The layout for this card is from Taylored Expressions.  I just love her sketches.  Thanks Taylor!  I'll also enter it into By the Cute and Girly for their theme of LOVE.

I hope you'll have time to go look at all the great cards the other Stamp Something DT members created.  They are just great!!  We hope you can join in this week too!

Thanks so much for visiting today.  I always love it when you stop by.

A Whimsie Doodles Valentine

Hi all!!  Are you enjoying your weekend as much as I am??  Just got home from my mom's a little while ago.  We watched our KU Jayhawks men's basketball team win one at home!  It's been a good day!!  : )

This is another adorable Whimsie Doodles image... Cloud 9 Leah.  She's the female version of Cloud 9 Cupid which you can see here.  I've been using sooooo much pink and red and the other valentine colors that I just needed a change.  I had my doubts as I was pulling this together, but now that it's complete, I'm really happy with it.  What do you think??

Last week, I put in an order through Wild Orchid Crafts for some of the wonderful flowers I see on other folks' cards.  They arrived yesterday and it was soooo fun opening that box and looking at all the flowers I now have at my disposal.  The really fun thing... there still lots more yet to get!!!  hahahaha!!  Anyway... I put a couple on this card and am just as proud as a peacock!!  {It doesn't take much to make me happy!!}

And... I just have to giggle at my little bow.  I think I could have made one a little bit bigger, don't you???  Oh well, I guess little means petite and dainty, right?  That's what we're going to say anyway!!  heeheeheehee!!

For the layout of this card, I got help from Friday Sketchers.  As usual, they've provided a great sketch and the DT cards are just awesome!!

I think that's all I've got today.  I'll be back soon and hope you will too.

Love Somethings

Hello stamping friends.  Once again my favorite day of the week rolls around.  I just love the anticipation of the weekend.  I'm smiling right now as I think of it.  OK, on to stamping.

Today brings a new challenge at Stamp Something.  This week's challenge is Love Somethings.  This was another fun one for me as I love creating lovey dovey cards.  Now, I usually have quite a time deciding what to use for this or that, but this one was easy to decide.  Today is my sister's birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIANA!!).  Unfortunately, I'm a little behind getting a birthday card done for her.  But I still wanted to show her how much I care.  PLUS, she gave me THE greatest Christmas present this year... a gift certificate to McCallisters.com where I buy most of my copic markers (and had a great time buying more)!!  This is Leslie and Lorie Lulu... a Stamping Bella image... and was just perfect for the message I wanted to send.

Our sponsor this week is Bunny Zoe's Crafts who offers up lots of great stamping needs.  Nikki, the owner of Bunny Zoe Crafts, has generously offered a gift certificate to one lucky participant in our challenge!

I used a bit of glitter on the girls.  On the bottom of the pink dress, the dots on the green dress, the heart on the apron and a little on the big butterfly.  I also tried a little something new.  I used a Gelly Roll clear star pen on the girls great hair.  I tried working it into more curls.  It didn't really turn out as I has hoped, but I don't totally hate it so I'll work on that a little more.

I'll try entering this card in a few other challenges:
 1.  Bellarific Friday the SKETCH
 2.  Copic Creations - feather blending
 3.  Paper Sundaes - valentines
 4.  Cute Card Thursday - spots and dots
